To honor Gweneviere, The Gweneviere Mann Foundation continues her legacy by helping more people get scanned for brain tumor and lung cancer early so that they can thrive in life like she did.
Gweneviere was a true star born to the earth who captivated everyone she met with her beautiful voice, contagious laughter, contemplative wisdom and generous loving heart.
In 2008, Gwen was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor. With the loving care of her husband, Yasir, she was able to overcome it in time and thrive. She became an accomplished writer, marathon runner and continued to blossom as a singer as chronicled by StoryCorps, PBS, NPR and more.
10 years later, on July 22, 2018, a rare form of lung cancer (exon 20) that would take her life. 77% of people with this type of lung cancer are non-smokers.
